Ukiah Valley Medical Center finished its month-long coat drive on Valentine’s Day. Once again, the people of Ukiah showed their generosity by donating coats and other warm winter clothing. The effort was led by UVMC Registration Associate Joleena Malugani, who said she stopped counting donations after she distributed more than 160 coats to local organizations that help people in need.
“I had such an abundant amount for Plowshares alone, that I began taking the coats and other winter clothing to the Ukiah Community Center and the Buddy Eller Center,” Malugani said. “Please thank everyone who donated and let them know the drive was a success.”
Throughout the year, Ukiah Valley Medical Center sponsors various drives for food, toys, warm clothing and more to support those who are less fortunate. Our mission is to reflect God’s love to our community by providing physical, mental and spiritual healing. Sometimes a warm coat and a warm smile can heal what’s broken.
